Yesterday was our 13th wedding anniversary.
We both wanted a quiet evening at home since we were both fighting colds...
we just celebrated our youngest one's birthday...
we just came back from our road trip with plenty of excitement...
and...
we're old.
Hehe...well, we feel like it anyway this week.
But my sweetheart brought me home these...
And this beautiful card...it didn't photo well for me, but the old-fashioned couple can actually swing back and forth.I absolutely loved it!

He also surprised me with a gorgeous dress that...well, let's just say it was very flattering.
So much so, that this modest gal will have to do a little altering. Either that, or just wear it for hubby's eyes alone!
As for my gift...
Here's the little poem I made up and slipped inside his card to reveal his present...
"In thirteen years of wedded bliss
The token you once wore
Became mysteriously smaller
(and made your finger sore!)
So as my gift to you this day
That little band of gold
Is being stretched so all will know
It's you I have and hold!"
Meanwhile, as a gift to us, our six year old who has inherited her daddy's artistic abilities, sat at the table with my flowers and drew and colored them for us!
I don't mean to brag...but I think she shows promise!
And it definitely going in a frame...

Besides gifts and cards, our quiet celebration consisted of looking at the wedding album as a family...

And then the girls settled down for Barbie's Swan Lake while my sweetie and I watched "The Lakehouse" upstairs...well, before he fell asleep, that is.And you know something? The evening was a serenely wonderful anniversary.
Blessings!
Next post- San Diego! (Really...promise!)

Love your daughter's art work. Definately worth framing!
Happy Anniversary, you two. I think those serene celebrations are sometimes the best.
Happy Anniversary dear Tammy to you and your handsome hubby:-) Sounds like it was the perfect way to celebrate...I always find those quiet evenings at home so much nicer than going out. How very special the flowers and card are that he chose for you...hmmm so I guess we won't see you modeling that dress? hehe Love your poem to him also and I'm sure he's thrilled that he'll have his wedding ring fit his finger again:-) Tell your daughter she did a SUPER job of drawing and colouring the flowers...I don't blame you for wanting to frame it, it's truly a masterpiece!!! xoxo

Oh, happy, happy anniversary Tammy! Wonderful!
I love the poem and the gifts you gave each other. But that picture done by your daughter needs to be framed in a place of honor. It is precious.
Wishing you many, many, many more, a lifetime in fact, of happy years togther.
happy anniversary and many more wonderful years together!
and yes your 6 yr old certainly does have artistic talent- I would frame that too!
Happy Anniversary, Tammy!
We did the quiet anniversary routine too this year. Sometimes just a nice dinner and a little handholding and reminiscing are just what the doctor ordered.
The drawing by your 6 year-old IS quite good.
Sounds like the perfect evening to me.
And I'm not just saying this... your daughter's picture could be printed on cards in any Hallmark store.
Yes, she has her father's gift.
Tammy,
I'm so sorry I missed your anniversary. However, I'm sending belated wishes and am glad you had a wonderful day.
I would say your six year old has some artistic talent. That is a wonderful picture of your flowers and I'm glad you are framing it. That will give her encouragement to continue her efforts.
Blessings,
Mary
Sorry I missed the celebration! Sending you blessings and congratulations all the same.
