When we're not busy learning, the girls have recently gotten back to playing with dolls...
Since we're having a quiet Saturday, today's no exception.
I snapped the above picture just minutes ago.
My oldest, especially, has always loved dolls. My youngest does, but prefers stuffed animals.
So, sometimes both get incorporated into the story.
And the age-old fun of transforming cardboard boxes into vehicles.
(And really, I'm looking forward to Christmas partly because we're going to have so many new boxes to play with...) ;)
When I was a little girl, I loved playing with dolls too, but I didn't have a sister to play with me...so excuse me, while I leave now...
I have to go grab my 1970 Velvet and join in!

You are SO funny! Have fun playing! Joy still loves dolls and talks aloud while she plays...when she was littler...she used anything she could. If she was in the bathroom with me, all the bottles on the sink became her dolls and they went "swimming" in the bathroom sink! She recently "babysat" a friend's doll for a whole week. She gave her a bath every night, sewed her some clothes, and put her to bed everynight! I'm so glad at 9 years old, that she still loves this! Be GLAD they're enjoying dolls! And what can I say about you? You're a girl after my own heart! lol!

Can I play too?? I LOVED playing dolls when I was a little girl. The dolls your girls have in the pictures are such sweet ones. I love pretty little girl dolls.

What fun! Such a creative mother these girls have. Dolls were not one of the things I liked to do, but am glad your girl take an interest. I do love porcelain dolls and have a few that I've collected since I grew up.
If you can send a card for my soldier, I would appreciate it and would love the girls to make cards for her also. No pressure. If you have time, let me know. If not, that is okay too.

I didn't have a sister either, but loved playing with my dolls. My favorite was a beautiful bride doll who had the most gorgeous wardrobe. It was all handmade by my Grandma.
Precious memories, so go have fun with your girls and create some memories of your own.

I loved playing dolls with you too when you were little. Since I have always loved dolls & have had a problem getting rid of some of my collection as you know.
My sister & i would go visit my mom with our doll family. My mother commented on one of my new baby dolls & askwd if it was a new baby. I replied Yes, I just "borned" it, & didn't have the faintest what that meant.

Playing with dolls was one of my favorite things to do. I still love Barbies - but the very fancy ones now.
My sis and I loved playing mommy with our dolls - and we didn't have anything close to Barbie style dolls - only babies. We weren't allowed to take them to church, so we propped hymnals up beside us and pretended they were out kids, naughty and/or nice. Too funny!
Feisty makes anything into a doll, too - for instance, fresh tomatoes from the gardain!
I wish I could come play with you. I have always loved dolls - still do. My sister and I spent hours playing dolls together. Precious memories.
Oh fun, I hope you enjoy every minute of playing dolls with your girls. That's just precious and exactly the best way you could possibly spend time with your girls.
BOXES, the cheapest toy around and probably the all time favorite. I've already taken one, on a visit to my twin great nieces!
My girls play the same thing...Emily likes dolls and Grace likes stuffed animals. They have so many boxes in their room. LOL

What fun! Grace and I get hers out and have a hoot with them...she is actually askig for another American Girl for Christmas. Bill is thrilled becasue he thought his *baby* was too grown up for that! : )

What a fun Mama you are:)! And your home school open house sounds fun. Maybe I'll join in some week, because even though my older two are in public school, I do home school my 3 year old and two day care children for pre-school. That's my favorite time of the day!

My kiddos love going to Costco because all the boxes we bring home to transport the food. I'm really seeing the blessings with sisters--having two girls and having one myself. It is very special. Keep up the good work. Wendy
I'm a box nut too. Drives hubby crazy (unless they are HIS boxes:). I think using the old imagination is whats missing in our youth. Kudos to you for letting them play, and playing with them!!! (oh the stories Ms. Velvet could tell:)
Neither of my girls when they were little really played with dolls. Both were more into the crafting and artsy kind of stuff.
