Well, as you can see by my lack of posting, this first full week back to school kept me just a tad occupied! But it's been actually a lot of fun, because both girls are still enthusiastic- and as most of you know, that's half the battle!
I was also gone a couple nights this week...it was the first week in a long time that I actually went out twice in a one week! It felt a little strange...but in a good way!
One was for book discussion group...this month was one of my favorite books which I had read earlier this year, Gardenias for Breakfast by Robin Jones Gunn.
The other night out was a home school group planning meeting...and of course, amongst the planning, there was some laughing and munching going on...it actually turned out to be a whole lot of fun!
I tell you, for some reason, I became almost a hermit lately...especially during the summer months when so many activities seem to take a hiatus. It felt so good to be out with other women again...it really helped me feel a bit more recharged. And two nights in one week! Wow. I'm so glad I'm blessed with a husband who knows how much moms need to have breaks and realized I was way overdue!
It's a good thing my battery was recharged, because this weekend, I'm off again to my mom's to spend the night with both girls in tow, to help her with a...gulp...yard sale. The girls have to go because my husband will have his handsome face under an engine all day tomorrow, fixing a car for some extra income.
Anyway, there will be lots of moving, carrying, lugging, sign nailing and afterward unloading to Salvation Army...so wish me luck- and energy! :)
I'll probably return with more of my childhood toys she's faithfully kept and I can't seem to somehow part with...
Of course, my girls will want to play with some of them. But I'm just now sure... after all, my 1972 Barbie Dream House might be worth a mint by now! If so, they can just gaze at it from afar...then I can sell it and buy them a whole passel of Barbie accessories from - like, this actual century.
So, a busy weekend for us...but I'll try really hard and be back to post again on Monday, for the neighborhood tour hosted by Kathleen Marie.
Hope you'll join me!
Blessings!

Oh but I thought you looooved yard sales! ;v)
Glad to hear your first week started off so well. I love a night out with the girls. It is definitely a stress buster.
Susanne...LOL Let me clarify- I love GOING to yard sales!
Not so much HAVING them! :)
Ooooh, I love yard sales, both having them and going to them. Have fun!!
YARD SALE!
I don't go often, but I would go to yours, for sure! If only you didn't live about a million miles away!
Yard sales are much more fun to visit than organize :)
Glad you got the chance to go out and re energize this week.
Travel safe ...
xo
I was amazed to find out my husband's Erector set is worth about $500 on Ebay! You might have a fortune stored up at your mom's house. Happy weekend.
It really is fun and refreshing to get to spend some time with friends Tammy. Like you - I tend to become a bit of a hermit, but once I get back into the routine I am so thankful I did.
Hope the yard sale goes really well.
Oh oh, I bet your girls will love that 72 Barbie house!!
I would!!
Throwing a yard sale is a lot of work..so be good to you too. Still, they can be fun!! I hope yours is more fun than work!
Good luck with it!
Hugs,
Sue
Well have fun going through old memories. Have a good time and I pray your energy keeps up.
It's always good to get out of the house for some fun. I'm glad you were able to this week.
Oh boy, a '72 Barbie Dream House! My sister and I had one too, but it would have been from the 60's. (Yikes!) How we ADORED playing with Barbie, Skipper, and Ken in that house. We even had a (convertible) car to go with it!
I hope your garage sale is successful. Always a good way to earn some extra cash for a few extras.
Hugs!!!
Yard sales are a LOT of work! You'll be tired I bet when you get back but hope y'all have a fun time.
Busy, busy! I hope this weekend is going/went smoothly! Glad that the school year got off to a good start and you got to enjoy 2 nights of fellowship and a little break:)
What a wonderfully busy week! It's good to be re-energized.
OH, my goodness, your girls would love the Barbie stuff. What a tough decision.
I don't like doing yard sales, but need to!
It does sound like you have a wonderful husband. You're very lucky!
With our busy weekend, I just caught up with this pre weekend post. I sure appreciated all your help with the yard sale & the girls are always a delight. I don't know how some of my books got out in the garage, but it was wonderful you found my Devotional "Streams In The Desert" that I used back in the 50s when I was a student at Bryan College in Tennesse. It was like meeting an old friend. I'm enjoying getting re-acquainted.
