Yesterday marked the 13th anniversary of the day my husband and I met. We often like to commemorate this day, just as we do our wedding anniversary...se started it when back when were dating and somehow never got out of the habit!Like with many marriages of ten years and more, we have been through so much together, both good and bad...Sad times, scary times, and just plain frustrating times.
I'll be honest...my husband and I are both stubborn people by nature and perhaps a little moody on occasion.
And though we have these... well, little relationial challenges... we also have a deep love for one another and at the core, a strong devotion. He is always there for me and I know that God brought us together on that day, 13 years ago. I hope to never take God's gift to us for granted.
Someday I might tell the story of how it all happened. This morning, however, I just want to list 13 of the reasons that I love and appreciate him...

1) He loves me.
2) He is completely commited to our marriage.
3) He is a loving daddy to our girls.
4) He is extremely responsible, yet...
5) He can enjoy childlike fun!
6) He doesn't mind spending time with our kids alone and giving me little breaks!7) He is incredibly intellegent and bright.
8) He has a poetic and artistic side (he was an art major and graphic designer)
9) He's one young-looking, handsome guy, who's always been able to make my heart beat a little faster!
10) He is a very, very hard worker.

11) He'll sit through many a romantic movie with me.
12) He's not afraid to say that he's sorry.
13) And most of all... he loves the Lord with all of his heart.
Happy Anniversary of the day we met,
Honey!
*By the way...he surprised me with roses last night! Did I not say he was quite a guy?

So sweet! You two are such a beautiful couple...really! :)
I LOVE to read about a woman who loves her husband. What a sweet testimony to your marriage and your love - happy day-of-meeting anniversary!
You two look like the perfect couple to me. And if you were exactly like you probably wouldn't work at all. I agree with Boo. I love it when a woman honors an honorable man. Lucky lucky you. And happy first time we met anniversary.
What a sweet tradition!
I know it was orchestrated by the Lord, & to think it almost didn't happen because you each were waiting at a different door. Fortunately you both did meet & fell in love & I for one love the "son" God brought into our life.

that's awesome. :-)
i don't guess i know the exact day i met my husband, but i can envision it perfectly... i happened to walk past this really cute guy, happened to just say something out-of-the-blue to him (totally not my nature... i'm somewhat on the reserved side!), and i immediately knew that there was something special about him... i even told my good friend soon afterwards that i thought i was going to marry him. and i did, not too long after that. :-)
Nothing is random or coincidence, is it? God is awesome in His work! Have you ever done any Beth Moore studies? Well, meeting my husband was a total GodStop!
The last photo is really, really sweet; your love for each other is evident! happy anniversary, C
Congratulations! What a nice tribute to a lovely relationship.
Happy anniversary...y'all still look mostly the same! Great pictures of a handsome couple.

Beautiful couple. Congratulations!
And thank you for the kind words and encouragement. I really do appreciate it.
Love your 13! And...thanks for your comment about "Christmas Story" on my blog. I think what really happened to your leg lamp light- you ran out of glue on purpose. tee hee
Awww...he definitely sounds like a keeper. What a great start to a wonderful relationship.
I was so touched by ALL of your comments...thank you! :)
We've been having such a busy week, even after our big weekend. I do hope to post something new very soon...today is the first chance we've had to rest up a bit. Except for my sweet husband, the object of this post, who doesn't have that liberty!
By the way, when I showed him this post, as a late anniversary gift, I think he was completely touched. Sometimes the gifts that don't cost money can mean the most, don't you think? :)
He's a keeper. We will be having our 25 in a couple of weeks. I married a great guy too!
what a keeper! Love the pictures.
Happy anniversary! You guys are a great looking couple, and he sounds like the ideal husband and father. Congrats on 13 years!
Wow, where did you find this guy? What a sweet journey down memory lane. You're a good-looking couple... and family. Here's to many more years together!
That is so sweet. My husband asked me to marry him on Groundhog Day, so we always celebrate that! I look at it as an opportunity to thank him for asking me to marry him, and for not regretting his decision (or at least not letting me know it -ha!)
You and yours make a sweet looking couple. Happy "anniversary" of sorts!
