Just wondering...
Were you ever peacefully sleeping, drifting off to that pleasant state of R.E.M., when slowly...somewhere in in the deep crevices of your mind, you become slowly aware that you need to go to the bathroom. But all of the rest of your body is arguing with the one renegade member- the bladder. The rest of your body does not want to get up out of your warm bed, just for the selfish needs of Bladder.

So, it hunkers down deeper under the covers, trying to ignore Bladder's irritating pleas.
But your dreams start to take on a slightly different path.
Suddenly, you excuse yourself to that old flame -you- knew -in- high school- that- doesn't- hold- a- candle- to -your- husband- but -you- always- wondered- whatever- became- of- him, and hurry to find the little girl's room. But on entering, you find that it isn't a restroom after all, but is actually a crowded room filled with people of both genders, eating Ritz crackers and socializing. You think you see Mary Tyler Moore laughing at a joke your mom just told, but you don't have time to make sure.
Because by then, you feel your bladder begin to do the mambo, and you quickly duck out to continue your quest for a bathroom- any bathroom.
Finally, you find one...and it's gorgeous with cushion seats. Just as you sit down, however, you see to your horror that there are no partitions and that it is in full view of the previous party you encountered...along with your former boyfriend, who is now dipping into a bowl of guacamole.
Hurrying back up, you hope no one- especially what's his name- saw your attempt at the open potty, and you scurry away, searching through every nook and cranny you see for an available and private commode. To no avail.
Whenever hope seems to be in view, it turns out to be just another sad mistake...all the while, your bladder is yelling and screaming "Just go anywhere!".
Finally, you wake up with a start. The rest of your body gives in to that squeaky wheel of a bladder, and you stumble down the hall to your real bathroom.
The actual feel of cold porcelain never seemed so good in all your life.
So...I was just wondering. Hypothetically, of course.

And I'm wondering what in the world you ate before going to bed to give you such a dream!!
Too funny!!
:)
That's hilarious!! Were you inside my dreams lately?? I, too, wonder what you ate before going to bed.
LOL! I so know what you mean about not wanting to get out of a nice warm bed :)
LOL! Boy anytime you dream of a potty you best pinch yourself awake!
Whooooooaaa. I've had that dream too; More than once! Usually there's also a segment about me in just my bra and panties trying to open my high school locker while everyone is running past frantically because a tornado is coming.
It is so nice to know I'm not the only one having those dreams!! Very well done - I have a great big smile.
Hypothetically....of course!! LOL!! Good grief! I do hate having that nagging need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night but not being quite awake enough to do anything about it!
This was hilarious!
Ha! I've had much the same dream, followed by the sudden wide-awake dash to the bathroom. You're too funny!
oh my goodness what a crazy dream!
You are too funny! But I will do anything I can to avoid getting up out of my warm bed to use the bathroom. Starting with not drinking after about 7pm of course, like a little kid, but when I'm cold and can't resist the coffee . . . grrr. It just grates me to have anything disturb my sleep like that! So I'm with you.
ROFL...I see you dream like me! lol I don't know how many times I've had to go pee so bad during the night and it's a panic trying to find the bathroom..only to wake up and realize you haven't gotten out of bed yet! hehe Loved this! Hugs xoxo
My husband just shakes his head when I describe such dreams to him. He doesn't dream like me. I think it is a right brain/left brain thing.
My bathroom dreams almost always have a high school person in it too. How strange. My problems in finding a usable toilet in my dreams usually stems around flooding problems, no toilet paper or the obvious, no privacy for whatever reason. I am just so thankful that I do not wet the bed in the meantime. That would be much harder to deal with for my husband than the freakish dream sequences!
Thank you for your sweet comment at my place. ;>}
I had to laugh at this. I have soooo been there, but {I} fell back asleep and dreamed I was already in the bathroom. VERYYYYY close call. LOL
What on earth did you eat before you went to bed?
Hypothetically, of course.
I am linking to this post. It is classic.
Hee hee. Thanks for the laugh:) It hits home for me right now being 5 1/2 months pregnant. I'm sooo tired but the call to the bathroom comes every night now.... I do try to ignore it for the cozy bed, but if baby moves I'm in trouble:)
I am especially doing that now that I am pregnant, dreaming about going to the potty...and of course actually waking up CONSTANTLY to go...
I will be a big girl and admit that I have had a dream of going to the bathroom and then wake up to find that it was just a dream...but I did indeed go to the bathroom. Not in years of course but I have done it!
At least you made it there & woke up in time to make that little trip! I also want to know what did you eat before you went to bed? Very funny post.
Trista, you're not alone! Been there, done that.
*Guffaw*
I linked from Melanie. I hate those dreams with the partitionless commodes!
So funny! Yes, I have had that crazy bathroom dream and my old bladder "aint what it use to be" so I have to get up and go more often. You are a talented writer, keep it up.
Girl, if needing to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night made me have dreams like that, I'd make darn sure I didn't drink a thing after noon! Too funny. Love your graphic, too. :-)
I'm also wondering what you ate to give you such dreams!Hypothetically, of course.
That was too funny Tammy.
Hahahaha! That was great and it suer does happen at times and for some reason moreso in the middle of winter when you really, really don't want to get out of bed!
Thanks!
Not that particular scenario, but yes, weird dreams until I give in and get up!
once in a while the toilet seat is up and I fall in.
Not in my dream, in my bathroom.
Oh, I have definitely been there before. Maybe we were even in the same dream!
My biggest fear is when I have this dream, I'm going to dream I'm actually in the bathroom and well...
Acckk! I don't think I could ever look my husband in the eye again.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I look forward to reading more of yours!
