Who says romance has to die?
Last night, my sweetheart brought me home roses...and had put one rose each in a vase for our two daughters. (This was their first time to receive a real rose from him and they were over the moon about it!) He also gave them teddies and candy...with a big box of chocolates for me.
Yes, he certainly knows the way to all of his girls' hearts!
But here's the best part...he took the girls to Awana last night and when he returned, we spent some time alone and slow-danced to this:
Wow.
I cannot tell you how long we had an evening to ourselves like that...and it was one of the best gifts he could have given me. Better than a thousand diamonds...truly.
My husband is a hard-working, car-fixing guy that on some days will just show his love by making sure the house and cars all work as they should. His love language is the act of service, and sometimes this means working all evening on cold cement under a vehicle and getting covered in grease.
But last night, he was Sir Gallahad to all of the ladies in his life... especially me.
Hopefully, he won't be too embarressed by my revealing this and bragging on him just a bit...(after all, he does read my blog!)
But sometimes a gal just has to tell the world when the man she loves does a bit of sweeping her off of her feet.
He's not always Cary Grant. He doesn't have time in the real world. But last night... he was.
Marriage is not a ritual or an end.

You've got me in a puddle of goo. That is just the most romantic thing for him to do. What a sweetie!
That is so romantic. How neat that he also got the girls a rose each too. The girls are learning by example just how they should be treated when they are grown & have a wonderful role modal to know what to look for in a real man as a choice of a future mate.

I assume that you meant that he gave them teddy bears - not the other kind of teddies. Ha!!!
We didn't do anything romantic at all. But we relived last week-end in our minds. Thanks for your prayers today. He is in the process of his procedure right now. My dad took him because I have the kiddoes and couldn't work out the timing. Wish we'd have thought of that earlier!
